High-Style Cinemagraphs. Très Chic!

The term “cinemagraph” was coined by U.S. photographers Kevin Burg and Jamie Beck, who used the technique to animate their fashion and news photographs beginning in early 2011. These moving images are created by merging DSLR footage and stills into a web-friendly animated GIF format. I particularly love these shots for both their technical excellence and the visceral emotion that they evoke.

Big thanks to AnnStreetStudio.com for much of this collection. Mind you, there are a bunch of big, animated GIFs on this page – so be a sport and scroll gently so that your browser can properly suck them down from the inter-tubes.
