“If it’s a likeness, alone, it’s not a success. If, through my portraits, you can come to know the subjects more meaningfully, if it synthesizes your feelings toward someone whose work has imprinted itself on your mind–if you see a photograph and say, ‘Yes, this is the person,’ with a little new insight – that is a beautiful experience.”

“Sometimes I enjoy just photographing the surface because I think it can be as revealing as going to the heart of the matter.”

“I’m trying to create flesh architecture. I aim to get a sculptural feel for groups of bodies, as well as create performance art.”
Spencer Tunick
“My job as a portrait photographer is to seduce, amuse and entertain.”

Capturing the exquisite depth of beauty in women.
It’s hard to argue against the age-old opinion that the female form is the most beautiful in creation. Photographing women is a joy. Over the past couple years I have been involved in beauty/hair photographic competitions and in the middle of a personal project to practice and advance my skills in beauty and fashion photography. Those projects are done now, but I’ve only scratched the surface of where my skills and creativity can take me.
There’s so much visual interest in photographing women: beautiful clothing, jewelry, makeup, unique hairstyles and the graceful curves only found in the female form. No wonder women are, by far, the most photographed subject in all of history.
I’ve also gained experience with figure studies and bodyscapes: abstract photography that focuses on the sculptural character of the human body.
