This simple, senior portrait shot suffered from a bit of color cast and, like most high-schoolers, this model had some acne to contend with. The pose and expression made this shot a finalist, but still some retouching was in required to satisfy our needs.

I started off by removing the slight yellow/green color cast and used adjustment curves to achieve a more natural, overall tone. |

Next, I cleaned up some shadows around the eyes and enhanced the iris color slightly. |

Then, I focused on the face for a while, using dodging, burning and the healing brush to remove acne and soften the subject’s freckles. |

Finally, I did some work on the hair (to thicken it) and then removed some dust specks from the subject’s shirt. |
