It’s always been a desire of mine to do more commercial product photography. This image was a simple studio test. Glass and metallic items can be the most difficult to photograph due to refraction, reflection and transparency. I liked how the test shot came out, so decided to perform the following edits.

01.

I began with the background – evening out the tones and removing the shadow at the end of the table.

02.

Next, I focused on some global sharpening and levels adjustments to get the image in a good place for further editing.

03.

Then, I spent some time dodging, burning and healing the bottle until I felt it had a good ‘retail feel’ to it.

04.

Aside from the red text, the product didn’t have much color to it, so I decided to add some subtle color grading.
